He is in his twenties and was born in Hong Kong. He grew up in a housing complex, was educated at a normal grammar school, had a proper job after graduation -- not dissimilar to the normal Hongkonger. Besides being darker. Besides being constantly harassed by the police like other South Asian Hongkongers.
In the past 3 months, he also stood tightly with Hongkongers, and felt that he is intertwined with the Hong Kong identity. "If I hear my family say that I am Pakistani and cannot care about the anti-extradition bill movement, then I disagree. I am a Hongkonger, this is my home.
Everyday he likes to go on the LIHKG forums, hand out protest advertising, post on Lennon Walls, and sometimes participates in demonstrations and marches. Even though he is just a peaceful protester, he declares that he does not wish to fight anybody, but wants to protect the people around him, one at a time, "I do not want to see anyone injured".
He also wants to personally tell all Hongkongers, "Even if you find that a lot of people around you don't support you, at least you have me. We South Asians too will help." He said this as he whimpers. Whenever one talks about a yearning for Hong Kong, even strongmen have an emotional side. From the eye to the cheek, he cried for this city that a great patch of his face was wet with tears.
The video lasts 8 minutes. It's a bit long, but when you get to the end, it becomes a love letter from the South Asian community to Hong Kong.
